Barletta Bulletin 4.1.13
As almost everyone acknowledges, the federal government’s fiscal house is a mess. Spending has gotten out of control and we in the House of Representatives have taken the lead in addressing this problem. On March 21, 2013, I voted for the House budget resolution for Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14). This budget resolution, while not having the force of law, establishes a blueprint for future spending bills. This budget puts our nation on the path to a balanced budget in just ten years without raising taxes on middle-class Americans and small businesses. In contrast, the budget passed by the Senate – their first in over 1,400 days – never foresees a balance.
