HAZLETON – On Monday, a federal judge blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order to cut funding from sanctuary cities that limit cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities. The ruling by U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick, an Obama appointee, has been appealed by the Trump Administration sending the decision to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
WASHINGTON – It’s been 31 years since the last significant reform to the tax code was undertaken. Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, by a vote of 227 – 205, marking another step forward towards tax cuts for the middle class and businesses.
