Barletta Statement Regarding Veto of Obamacare Repeal

Press Release

WASHINGTON – Congressman Lou Barletta, PA-11, today issued a statement in response to President Obama’s veto of legislation that would repeal the most important parts of his signature health care law and stop federal taxpayer funding of abortion provider Planned Parenthood.  Both the House and Senate had passed H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act, placing the bill on the president’s desk.  The House of Representatives will act first in attempting to override the presidential veto.

Barletta’s statement is as follows:

“It comes as no surprise that the president would choose to defend his legacy and stand behind the health care law that is demonstrably flawed and harmful to millions of Americans.  He pledged that it would reduce health care premiums, but it didn’t.  He promised that you could remain on your existing health insurance, but you couldn’t.  And he guaranteed that you could keep your doctor, but you couldn’t do that either.  From inception to application, Obamacare has been a disaster and it seems the only one who doesn’t know it is President Obama.  I look forward to our attempt to override the president’s veto in the House.”
