Barletta Votes for Balanced Budget Amendment
WASHINGTON – Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) today issued the following statement after voting in favor of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The amendment fell short of the two-thirds vote necessary for passage.
“It’s clear to me that we need a constitutional amendment that brings both sides to the table on budget negotiations and constrains Washington’s out-of-control spending,” Barletta said. “Every day, Pennsylvanians make tough choices in order to balance their budgets. I am extremely disappointed that my colleagues decided not to hold our government to the same standard.”
