WASHINGTON – Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Motion to Go to Conference on H.R. 1, the Tax Cut and Jobs Act by a vote of 222 to 192.  Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) voted in favor of the procedural step to find compromise language between the House and Senate tax plans.
“America needs tax cuts and reform.  For too long, Washington has squeezed every penny from paychecks, taxed and regulated good paying jobs out of existence, and supported special interest carve-outs instead of middle class families.  Americans fight hard for every dollar they make to support them and their families.  The Washington first solution has failed them.  I’m proud to say we are in their corner fighting for growth: Growth in wages, growth in jobs, and growth in opportunity.  This tax plan will be a major step in the Make America Great Again agenda.  I will continue to fight hard to get tax cuts and reform over the goal line for Pennsylvania families in the coming weeks.”
