Congressman Barletta Applauds Selection Of Scranton As Site of Future Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Forum
WASHINGTON – 11th Congressional District Representative Lou Barletta released the following statement regarding news that the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure had selected Scranton as the site of a forum on Friday, February 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m..
“I am excited at the opportunity for the 11th District to play a leading role in the discussion regarding the future of our transportation and infrastructure in this country,” Barletta said. “As the home of many of Pennsylvania’s busiest roads and highways, the people of the 11th District possess a unique perspective when it comes to the state of our country’s infrastructure, and how we can properly improve our thoroughfares in a way that will grow our economy and create jobs.”
The upcoming forum, which will be held in the Scranton City Hall Chambers at 340 North Washington Avenue, is part of an ongoing discussion to develop a long-term transportation reauthorization bill that will cut wasteful spending while preparing our nation’s infrastructure for the future. The last transportation authorization law expired in September 2009.
