Naming ceremony for Pittston Post Office set for 10/24/12
WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, October 24, at 10 a.m., family members, friends, and colleagues of Pennsylvania State Trooper Joshua D. Miller will join U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta (PA-11) at the renaming ceremony of the Pittston Post Office as the facility is dedicated to the fallen trooper.
Tpr. Miller died in the line of duty on June 7, 2009, while helping rescue a nine-year-old boy from a kidnapper.
Rep. Barletta sponsored a bill to officially dedicate the postal facility at 11 Dock Street as the Trooper Joshua D. Miller Post Office Building. Rep. Barletta’s bill was signed into law by the president on June 5.
Also in attendance will be local and state officials, and representatives of the U.S. Postal Service.
The public is invited.
