WASHINGTON – Congressman Lou Barletta, PA-11, has been presented with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious “Spirit of Enterprise” Award, which recognizes Members of Congress for their strong records of supporting pro-growth policies.  Rep. Barletta was acknowledged for his votes in the 112thCongress, 2ndSession.

“This is a great honor for me, and it is a confirmation that my beliefs and actions are intended to continue to try to improve the economy and create jobs in Pennsylvania and across the country,” Barletta said.  “Government does not create private sector jobs, but it can allow for conditions for businesses to grow and hire more people.”

The Chamber scored Congress on twelve votes in the U.S. House of Representatives, including the establishment of Permanent Normal Trade Relations with Russia and the reauthorization of surface transportation legislation.  Also scored were votes to repeal onerous portions of the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare.

Barletta’s 2012 score was 92-percent.  His career rating is 96-percent.

“In the face of high-stakes politics and difficult choices, Rep. Barletta provided America’s job creators with a strong voice in Congress,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber.  “This award recognizes Rep. Barletta for consistently demonstrating his support for pro-growth policies.”
