WASHINGTON – Today, President Trump signed an Executive Order to dismantle the Obama Administration’s (EPA) burdensome Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule.  Congressman Lou Barletta, PA-11, applauded this action, as he has long opposed this one-size-fits-all regulation, which would have a devastating impact on the residents of Pennsylvania’s 11th district.

“The Obama Administration’s Water of the U.S. rule created a massive tangle of bureaucracy that threatens job creation and economic growth for farmers, home builders, manufacturers, contractors and pretty much anyone who uses land in the course of doing business,” Barletta said.  “I have consistently voted to eliminate this rule and defend the relationship between federal and state governments established by the Clean Water Act. The President’s executive order is a step forward in holding the EPA accountable to the American people, and I look forward to supporting his continued efforts to dismantle the Waters of the U.S. rule.”
