Rep. Barletta Statement Regarding Veterans Day 2017
WASHINGTON – Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) today issued the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2017:
“Veterans Day is a time to remember the courage of those who have kept us safe during peacetime and risen to defend our nation in times of conflict. These noble men and women – and their families – sacrifice their lives and liberty on behalf of their fellow citizens. Every year we observe Veterans Day on November 11th. On this day 99 years ago, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, hostilities ceased in World War I. Since that day, we honor all veterans for their service.
“America’s shores have been defended through the generations by these men and women who have fought to keep the United States the greatest nation in the world. For those who have served, and those who still wear the uniform today, a grateful nation salutes you.”
