Rep. Barletta staying in 11th District because of flood damage
HAZLETON – U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta, PA-11, will not return to Washington on Monday. Instead, he will remain in his flood-ravaged district, meeting with residents whose lives have been shattered and talking with business leaders and elected officials about how to recover from this epic event. Rep. Barletta will remain in the 11th District for an undetermined number of days.
Almost all of Rep. Barletta’s Washington, D.C., office staff is travelling to the 11th District to help those affected by the flooding of the Susquehanna River. His office in 510 Cannon House Office Building will remain open, but it will be minimally staffed.
On Monday, Rep. Barletta will again work closely with local and state officials to assess the damage.
Starting Monday, Rep. Barletta’s staff will be stationed in and touring some of the hardest-hit areas. Specific times and locations will be announced when they are available.
Rep. Barletta’s district offices will be open for extended hours – 9 a.m. through 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Additional hours may be added as they are needed.
